Ways to Support the Mission

Prayer

The most powerful and accessible way for you to support the mission is to pray throughout its duration. Each time I post I will include prayer requests, but continuous prayer for these will always be beneficial:

1. The healing of the people that we are there to serve
2. Protection of the crew to carry out the mission
3. Protection over the infrastructure and logistics required to support this operation
4. For the continued financial support of the donors that sustain Mercy Ships

Finance

I'm grateful to everyone who has told me they want to support me financially throughout this year. As many of you know, all crew aboard Mercy Ships are volunteers, so I won't be receiving a salary. Since I've only committed to a year of service for now, I've decided not to raise a traditional missionary's salary. I do not know what the future holds, but if God calls me to continue in this kind of work beyond this year, I would need to raise support more formally and sustainably in the long term.

This year, though, I won't be receiving any payment for my service. If you feel called to support me financially, your gift would go toward:

1. Travel expenses
2. Gear and equipment
3. Living expenses
4. Savings to help me transition home into my next line of work
5. And most importantly to me, the security and confidence that if God calls me to continue this work, doing so could be financially feasible going forward

I'm continually amazed by how many of you have already indicated you'd like to be part of this mission through financial support, and even more so by the humility of those who've said it isn't their doing but God giving through them to make it possible. The responsibility I feel to steward that well, and to represent my community and my donors faithfully, is immense. It only deepens my confidence that this is what God has called me to do. Thank you for considering me, and thank you for your support, regardless of whether that includes finances or not.
